If you are experiencing domestic violence, you can explore filing a temporary restraining order (TRO). Please do so after you are physically safe and have connected with supports (i.e. police, hotline, local organization, etc.). TROs, if granted, will be granted for a period of ten days. Both you, and the offender will be ordered to return in ten days, so next steps can be finalized, which includes the TRO being extended for a period of up to 3 years.
