Student Grievance Process

  • NU Resource
  • Available Anywhere

In the event that a student has a complaint or dispute with the University regarding the University's application of policies and procedures, its decisions, or judgement, the student should follow the Student Grievance Process, which is outlined in the University Catalog 86 beginning on page 69.

Students can also utilize the Office of Ombudsman (858) 642-8368 or ombuds@nu.edu
Phone is the preferred method of contact in order to protect your confidential information. The ombudsman is set up as a neutral party to hear your grievances and offer insight on how to resolve the situation.

A student may file a University Grievance (non-discriminatory), if they have followed the grievance policy outlined in the catalog first and have not reached a resolution.

*If reporting discrimination, reference the Report It page for other options.
