Rental Assistance due to COVID-19

Many counties in the US are offering rental (and sometimes utility) assistance to assist those who have been impacted by COVID-19. One way to learn about these is to call 211 to inquire or to simply google "______ county COVID-19 rental assistance." If this is something that your county is offering the first or second link in the search should detail more about what this looks like. You can also look at the rental assistance program finder that Consumer Financial Protection Bureau put together here.

It is important to read the information, check eligibility and application details and see when applications are open. If they are not yet open, there may be a place to put your contact information to be notified or you may need to check back every few days. It is extremely important to apply for assistance as soon as applications become available as they will typically be reviewed in the order in which they were received. So plan ahead, gather all required documents, and set aside time on the day of to apply.
